    Virtual 2020 Community Radio Awards crowns winners

    The best of community support and broadcasting has been recognised at the 2020 Community Radio Awards, sponsored by Playoutone. In this unusual year, the event turned virtual, allowing more volunteers than ever to attend online. Continuing the tradition, the event was hosted by last year’s Male gold recipient, Sam Day from Future Radio, with awards presented by a multitude of judges and sponsors.     Shortlist for 2020 Community Radio Awards revealed

    The shortlist for the 2020 Community Radio Awards, sponsored by PlayoutOne, has been revealed. Across a wide variety of specialisms and topics, a shortlisting in the awards is recognition of a commitment to community, craft and causes. More than 460 entries from 90 licenced stations have been whittled down to five per category.     More than 50 projects have been recognised at the 2019 Community Radio Awards. Hosted outside England for the first time, the event in Barry, Wales, attracted an audience of 150 volunteers and staff from a range of stations.
